OUR STAFF REPORTER GUJRAT - Gujrat police have registered a case against the station house officer of Saddar police station along with his two subordinates for allegedly supplying charas to a drug pusher and sent them behind bars, the Nation has learnt. The Larri Adda police also arrested drug pusher Ahmed Raza of Sargodha from Gujrat last week. He has confessed to the crime during investigation and stated that he had been taking supply of charas from Sadar Police SHO Inspector Mehr Anaar and his subordinates ASI Ahmed Nawaz and Moharar Afzaal Ahmed since long. The police, after confirming the allegations, booked the said officials and put them in detention. Sources said that the police officials had also started investigation into disappearance of a large cache of 198 packets of charas seized in 1994 as it is believed that the Saddar police had sold more than 73 maund since then. OATH TAKING: An oath taking ceremony of newly-elected members of the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industrys Shaheen Group was held at the district council hall. Defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar and the president of the Shaheen Group, Haji Nasir Mehmood, administered oath on the occasion and gave away shields and certificates to the members with exceptional contribution to the GTCCI development.
