QUETTA - Two tankers carrying fuel for US-led coalition forces stationed in Afghanistan were set on fire in Machh area, some 40 kilometre southeast of Quetta, on Saturday. According to Levies Force sources, two Afghanistan-bound tankers were passing from Machh area of Bolan district when armed attackers opened fire on them. As drivers stopped vehicles, attackers dismounted them and set tankers on fire and fled from the scene. Consequently, both tankers and thousands of litres fuel were burnt and destroyed. However, nobody was hurt in the attack. Levies personnel rushed to the site after getting information and cordoned off the area. Meanwhile, a man was gunned down in Satellite Town area of Quetta on Saturday, police said. Unidentified armed men riding a motorbike opened fire on Sher Muhammad at a bus stop in the limits of Satellite Town Police Station. As a result, Sher Muhammad received critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries before he was shifted to any hospital of the city. The assailants escaped from scene after opening fire. Police rushed to the spot after getting information and shifted the body to Civil Hospital Quetta. Motive behind the murder is yet to be known. Police have registered a case and started further investigation into the incident.
