FAISALABAD: Special arrangements have been made for the sanitation during three days of Eidul Azha, claimed an official.

FWMC Managing Director Amjad Ali Awan said that a comprehensive plan has been prepared for cleanliness during Eid days. For the purpose, new tools including 400 handcarts, 200 waste bins and 2,000 uniforms will also be provided in 113 union councils. He told that first time in the history of Faisalabad, more than 50,000 bio-degradable bags would be distributed free of cost to manage the animal waste properly during these days. For the purpose, more than 30 awareness stalls would be installed at different locations in the city where citizens would be able to get bio-degradable bags and information material free of cost.

He said that special arrangements had been made for the complaint cell 1139 and extra staff would be deployed so that the incoming complaints could be redressed properly and timely. He said that special duty roasters had been allocated and all the staff would be available from 6am to 6pm during Eid days.

Managers operations Dawood Makki and Muhammad Ijaz explained that before Eidul Azha cleanliness arrangements had also been done for animal markets. To dump the waste collected during Eid days, 18 temporary dumping sites have been identified. The manager transport explained that 242 pickups and loaders have been hired for the purpose of waste collection.–Staff Reporter
