FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has earned another global distinction as its student Anum Safdar, after Rabia Faridi, has been designated as global youth ambassador for education and women’s empowerment by non-profit organisation A World at School.

A World at School President Sarah Brown, the spouse of former Britain Prime Minister Gordon Brown, has designated her as the global ambassador. She is a student of MSc (Hons) in the Plant Breeding and Genetics at the UAF. She is also president of Debating Club and Editor of English Section of Kisht-e-Nau, the varsity’s bi-annual magazine. She vowed to take every possible step to raise public awareness about education so that literacy rate could be enhanced. She said that it was her dream that every child is enrolled in schools. Women’s education and empowerment is most important for a healthy society, she added. UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan congratulated her for the success, and hoped that UAF would continue providing leadership in every sphere of life. –Staff Reporter
