Johnson confirms Janson film part

New York: Dwayne Johnson has confirmed he will star in The Janson Directive. The Fast And Furious star, also known as The Rock, announced on Twitter that he will play the lead role in the big-screen adaptation of Robert Ludlum’s final novel, which was released posthumously in 2002. “Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman will write the script. Let’s roll...” he wrote, followed by the hashtags “ #Ludlum #Conspiracy #JansonDirective.”  Dwayne is to play former Navy SEAL Paul Janson, who decided to become a private security consultant, after growing increasingly uncomfortable with the number of contract killings required by his old employers.  But Paul is forced to go on the run after a botched operation to rescue a kidnapped billionaire lands him on the government’s hit-list.  Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva is writing the script, with Universal Studios considering a plan for a Bourne-esque series.  No release date has been set for The Janson Directive as yet.–BTG
