KARACHI : PIA has acquired two Boeing 737-800 aircraft which arrived at Jinnah International Airport Karachi on Wednesday. These latest technology fuels-efficient aircraft have been acquired on wet-lease from Turkish based Corondon Airlines. MD PIA, Shahnawaz Rehman while sharing his views on the arrival of the aircraft, said that these aircraft are being put into operation immediately and to be deployed on domestic and international routes. He said that PIA plans to induct more fuel efficient aircraft in its fleet which will aid in achieving higher revenue for the airline, provide better services to customers and improve flight schedule for the convenience of its valued passengers.

 He said all legal formalities including PPRA rules were fulfilled in acquisition of these aircraft.
As part of revival of PIA programme the national flag carrier is in the process of acquiring fuel efficient aircraft on priority and has floated tenders accordingly.
