Protesting doc demands action

LAHORE - Dr Salman Patel has demanded action against Dr Izhar Chaudhry for being thrashed over raising ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan a couple of days back.
Addressing a press conference at LPC on Wednesday, Dr Salman urged his seniors in medical community to intervene and help him getting justice.
Dr Salman, an office bearer of PMA Muzaffargarh chapter, was thrashed and forcibly evicted from a ceremony by Izhar Ch for raising the slogan during the speech of Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafiq.
Various bodies including YDA have already condemned the incident, saying vested interests thrashed and deprived Dr Salman Patel from expressing his democratic right.
Terming Dr Izhar Chaudhry a Gullu Butt of PMA, Dr Salman vowed to continue protest for his due right.
“There is lawlessness, injustice, inequality, VIP culture and dynastic politics in Pakistan. Such slogans will become popular in a country like Pakistan. I request seniors to boycott Dr Izhar Chaudhry for his injustice and brutality”, Dr Salman Patel said.
“It is a pity that the Advisor to the CM termed a doctor who received several gold medals and pride of performance a non serious person. I obtained Presidential Award at the age of 12, first gold medal at 16 and third one at 18. I also achieved best graduate award from Nishter Medical College Multan”, he said, adding, the government terminated him from service for giving a welcome to PTI Chairman Imran Khan in 2012.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of PMA Punjab said that the association was working for the welfare and betterment of patients and doctors irrespective of political affiliation. He expressed grief over the sad incident, saying that the PMA apologised unconditionally for action of any of its office bearer.
