A former contestant who ran against General (r) Pervez Musharraf in 2007 Presidential Election has filed a petition in Supreme Court of Pakistan to try former president under Article 6 of the Constitution, a private TV reported. Dr Anwar-ul-Haq - a public servant and medical practitioner in PIMS Islamabad, filed a petition in the court Wednesday saying Musharraf breached the Constitution and violated Supreme Courts order by imposing emergency rule on Nov. 3, 2007. He pleaded the court to try former military ruler under Article 6 and Contempt of Court Act, suggesting that he could be brought in to the country if needed for the purpose by InterPol. Meanwhile, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Zafar Ali Shah on Wednesday also filed a plea in Supreme Court of Pakistan against the decision by the Registrar of the apex court of rejecting his petition seeking Musharraf trial under Article 6.
