PESHAWAR - NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haidar Khan Hoti has suggested to observe fasts and celebrate Eidul Fitr with Saudi Arabia so that the whole Muslim Ummah might enjoy the festivities on the same day. The Chief Minister expressed this wish while chairing a high-level meeting regarding sighting of moon here at his office on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Minister for Religious Affairs Nemroz Khan and other high officials of the Auqaf Department also attended the meeting. Hoti said fasting and Eid on same day all over the country was the sign of national unity and Islamic brethren. The Chief Minister said Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee represented the whole province and had been established for collective decision on the religious and Islamic festivals, adding the decision whether or not the moon was sighted rested with the committee. He also issued directives for giving representation to revered Ulema of all factions of Islam in order to make the functioning of the committee better and effective.
