LE LOCLE (PR): With just over 50 days until Phillip Island circuit welcomes the new era of MotoGP, Tissot has claimed pole position, with the event, taking place from October 18-20, to be officially titled the 2013 Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

KW&SB urged to supply water to CBC

KARACHI (PR): Aziz Suharwardy, a nominated board member of CBC has condemned the role of KW&SB for their inequity and discrimination in water supply to DHA as KW&SB is not supplying water to DHA as per the approved quota.

 He further said that despite various reminders from CBC to Managing Director of KW&SB regarding the problem of shortfall of water supply faced by the residents of DHA including various VVIPs, the nothing has so far been done and issue remains the same and even deteriorated day by day.

He emphasized that if DHA received water supply as per the approved quota/ CBC can supply ample water to its residents. He further appealed to Qutubuddin Shaikh, new MD of KW&SB and other top officials of KW&SB to look into matter seriously and facilitate the residents as unfortunately less than half of the quota of water has been supplied to them.

He stressed that KW&SB must take prompt and necessary action on the issue of shortfall of water supply and to fulfill the basic civic facilities to the residents of DHA.

PU’s cricket trials today

LAHORE: (PR): Punjab University Sports Department has announced schedule for admissions in Lahore, Gujranwala and Jhelum campuses on sports basis for male candidates in four-year programmes of BS Hons BCom, BBA, BFA, BBIT and Master’s level programmes including LLB, MCom, MBA, MFA other programmes including Pharm D, BSc Engineerig/Chemical/Electrical and other equal degree programmes.  The trials are starting from September 2 and cricket trials of candidates will be conducted at New Campus Cricket Ground on Monday (today) at 8am.

Renowned former cricketer Amir Sohail will be Chief Selector while Ad-hoc President LCA Izat Hussain, Javed  Zaman and Jameel Akhter will also be present.

PTCL pensioners meeting held

LAHORE (PR): PTCL pensioners Action Committee and Quaid Welfare Society held a joint meeting to urged the government that over 45000 pensioners/ widows being deprived of their dues by PTCL management. Ch Ashraf, chairman, Quaid Welfare Society has appealed the CJ of SC and PM to look into matter and also demanded the increase in the pensions.
