Former Member National Assembly and PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi could not be indicted on Monday in ephedrine quota case as lawyers had gone on strike against brutal murder of their colleagues in different cities.

Special Judge Anti-Narcotics court Arshad Mahmood Tabassum was hearing the case, when Hanif Abbasi appeared before the court and he was given the copies of the challan but could not be indicted due to strike of lawyers.

However, nominated accused Khawaja Asad and Salim Shirazi’s interim bail was extended till September 18.

The court adjourned  the hearing after fixing the date for indictment of Hanif Abbasi on September 18.
