ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of IT and Telecom has refuted a news item published in a section of press on August 29 with a headline ‘Localized version best solution, says YouTube spokesperson.’

The spokesperson for the ministry said that the correspondent had distorted facts, relating to Ministry of IT & Telecom. He termed the report incorrect in which the correspondent mentioned that the likely appropriation of a hefty sum of Rs 270 crore to be spent on unblocking of YouTube and managing grey traffic.

“The contribution has been made by the Long Distance & International (LDI) Operators for equipment to monitor the grey traffic to be done by the PTA, as was clearly stated by Minister of State in a press conference,” the spokesperson clarified.
