LAKKI MARWAT - Two persons including a runaway prisoner of DI Khan Jail were killed in a firing incident here at Burghu Adamzai village within the precincts of Tajori Police Station on late Saturday night.

Police said that Azizullah and Sajjad Ali came across their rivals in a musical concert arranged in connection with the marriage of a villager. The rivals opened indiscriminate firing with sophisticated weapons, killing both of them on the spot. The killers escaped after committing double murder while locals shifted the dead bodies to a nearby hospital, police said.

One of the deceased Azizullah escaped DI Khan jailbreak on July 29 where he was imprisoned for 25 years in a murder case. The bodies of Azizullah and Sajjad Ali were later handed over to relatives for burial after conducting post-mortem, police maintained.

Police registered a case against the killers including Khursheed, Begu Khan, Ammal Khan and Abdul Razzaq on the complaint of Rizwan, a relative of the deceased and started investigation.

NA-27 results notification: Activists of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf took out a rally on Sunday to press the quarters concerned for issuance of notification of Col (Retd) Ameerullah's victory who secured highest votes in bye-elections on NA-27, Lakki Marwat.

PTI leader Salman Saleem, District President Saleem Nawaz and other party leaders participated in the rally. It started from Shaheed Abid Ali Chowk and culminated into a gathering at Kargil Chowk. The protesters blocked the main road connecting Bannu with Mianwali for some time, causing troubles for transporters and commuters.

On the occasion Saleem Nawaz demanded that official result and notification of PTI contender Col (Retd) Ameerullah' victory should be issued without any further delay. Referring to suo moto notice of Peshawar High Court on barring female voters from using their right of franchise, he said that to take notice of barring female voters from casting votes in Lakki Marwat and Nowshera and ignore the same thing in other constituencies was against the norms of justice.

He told that female voters did not cast votes in Bannu and other constituencies in bye-elections but no one took notice of it. He apologised from transporters and commuters for inconvenience due to closure of road and said that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had lost senses because PTI tsunami had ruined his party in Lakki Marwat and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
