PESHAWAR : A bomb planted by unknown miscreants near a patrolling van of police exploded in Bannu district on Monday but no loss of life or property was reported. Sources said that SHO of Police Station Miryan Akhtar Ali Khan along with other policemen was patrolling when suddenly a bomb placed by unidentified miscreants close to their vehicle exploded by the gate of police station.

Luckily, they said, the SHO along with other policemen remained safe.

Police said it was a remote-controlled device.

Soon after the incident, police launched a search operation and apprehended a suspect identified as Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Sadiq, an IDP from North Waziristan presently living in Bannu.
