Not so fine dining

S: Did you see the new bust by the Punjab Food Authority? It was none other than Café Aylanto. Wow. Their kitchen was disgusting. Yet they gladly charge you, as if the food is sprinkled with gold. It is ridiculous. These restaurants, ones that are caught, should really publicly apologise for deceiving their customers for so long. They shouldn’t be just fined. They should be closed down.
A: Why are we stupid enough to actually go to these ‘fine dining’ places In the first place? I mean what is fine dining? Put the same food, that you can buy quarter of the price, and put it on a fancy plate? The best meal I ever had was on Abbot Road, and it did not cost me and arm and a leg.
S: Hahah, bet it cost the dumba that you devoured an arm and a leg.
A: That the point, in the same price, I would have starved at a fine dining place. Have music and act all snotty? Serves these people right. People know that what they are eating is mediocre. Yet, they just have to show people how much money they have though inflated restaurant bills.
S: Chill Ameen. I get it. Never to take you any place that claims they are remotely a high end one. There is nothing wrong in going to these places, if one wants to. They are not pressurising others to go as well. Its choice. At least we have choices in Pakistan. What is wrong is how these restaurants can get away with serving absolutely anything. If I am paying a grand for an appetiser, I would expect it to be at least clean. I mean, I am not that high-maintenance, but I like my food washed.
A: Maybe if people stop going there, then they will actually do something. Do you really think their business will die down? No. Because people want to maintain that status symbol… no matter what questionable meat they seem to feed us. It is we who are blind and gullible.
