Pakistan’s foreign reserves stand at $23.03b

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $23,038.7 million on August 26 2016. The break-up of the reserves, as released on Thursday, showed that those held by the State Bank of Pakistan stood at $18,128.8 million; net foreign reserves held by commercial banks were $4,909.9 million. Hence the total liquid foreign reserves reached $23,038.7 million on Aug 26. During the week ending on August 26, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by $58 million to reach $18,129 million, compared to $18,187 million in the previous week.–Staff Reporter

During the week, SBP made payments of $34 million on account of external debt servicing.
