LAHORE - First Lady Bushra Bibi had luncheon with orphans at Darul Shafqat Saturday.

Accompanied by her friend Farah Khan, Bushra arrived at Darul Shafqat with food for children. She dropped the protocol before entering Darul Shafqat as she wanted to spend time with children and dine with them in an affectionate atmosphere.

One of the children at Darul Shafqat is critically ill and Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken responsibility for his treatment.

During her visit, honorary finance secretary of Anjuman-e-Humayat Islam handed a letter to the First Lady addressed to the prime minister to seek early approval for construction of a plaza in fulfillment of the commitment, which the previous government had made after shops which provided finances to Darul Shahfaq, were demolished to create space for Orange Line Matro Train.

The Anjuman, which is supervisory body of Daral Shafqat, told the PM through the letter that a year had elapsed since promise was made to allow construction of a plaza at a nearby open space so that money could be obtained for maintenance of orphan children, but no headway has been made to date.

Later, Bushra went to the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri commonly known as Data Gunj Buksh.
