RAWALPINDI - A meeting of District Price Control Committee was held Thursday with District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Jamal Mustafa Syed in chair to review and fix prices of essential items of daily use. The new rates would be implemented with immediate effect in the district. The special price magistrate had been instructed to strict monitor the implementation of new rate lists. The meeting was also attended by EDO F&P Saqib Manan, president Markazi Anjman-e-Tajran city Seikh Muhammad Sadeq, Chaudhry Mohammad Iqbal, president Anjman Tajran Malik Shadid Ghfoor Pracha, EDO Agriculture Hameedullah Shah, DO Labor Chaudhry, Mohammad Ejaz, DO Enterprises Mohammad Saeed Toor and others members of district price control committee. According to the new rates, prices of 20 kg flour bag was fixed from Rs 420 to Rs 465 while Venaspati ghee from Rs 95 to Rs 98 per kg, basmuti rice Rs 70 and Rs 80 to Rs60 to Rs70 per kg. The price of Dal Channa was reduced form Rs 56 to Rs 46. The rate of Dal Masoor was not fixed earlier now it was fixed at Rs 110 per kg. Similarly, Dal Mash rate was reduced from Rs 80 to Rs 70 per kg, Dal Mong from Rs 50 to 40 per kg, red chili from Rs 140 to Rs 120 per kg. The rates of mutton and beef were mentioned at Rs 250 and Rs 140 per kg respectively similarly the rates of milk and curd were also mentioned. DCO Jamal Mustafa informed the meeting that the complaint cell had been established in the office of District Officer Revenue where the complaint about price hike could be lodged on phone no.9270774.
