LAHORE - The Pakistan Cricket Board has relieved Aamer Sohail of his additional charge as the PCB Director Marketing after the former captain failed to rope in sponsors for the ODI series against Australia. Saleem Altaf, PCB Chief Operating Officer, confirmed that Sohail, whose primary post is Director National Cricket Academy and Game Development, has been relieved of the additional charge. "The marketing department will now report directly to the chairman until the appointment of a new director marketing," he said. Sources within the board said that Butt was not happy that the marketing department had failed to finalise sponsorship deals for the forthcoming Pakistan-Australia ODI series in Abu Dhabi and Dubai starting from April 22. "Sohail was also sent to Dubai to secure sponsorship but couldn't finalise any deal and returned home," a report said. The PCB has already advertised the key position and Altaf said the post would be filled soon as prospective candidates were being scrutinised.
