QUETTA - A Hindu trader and a teenager boy were kidnapped from provincial capital in broad daylight here on Friday. In the first incident, unidentified armed men abducted a Hindu trader, Nanak Das at gun-point from Arif Road of Quetta when he was opening his shop. Kidnappers drove him away towards unknown location. Similarly, in another incident, Azamtullah, 15, was on his way in Killi Goharabad area of the City when he was kidnapped by unknown persons. Separate cases of the incidents have been registered and investigations are underway. It may be mentioned here that incidents of kidnapping for ransom in Balochistan particularly in Quetta are on the rise while authorities concerned have failed to bust the gangs of kidnappers. Two children burnt to death Two children were burnt to death and five other people including two women received burn injuries after a house caught fire in Sobatpur area of Jaffarabad District on Friday. According to police sources, a fire broke out in a house located near Sobatpur police station due to which two children identified as Ahmed Umar and Imdad died after receving serious burn injuries. Five others including two women identified as Mahi Jorri, Azat Bibi, Daud, Muhammad Idress and Ali Gohar also sustained burn injuries and rushed to Sobatpur and Dera Murad Jamali hospitals for treatment. Police extinguished the fire after hectic efforts and took the injured to hospital. Three houses were also damaged due to fire. Police has registered a case and started investigation into the incident. 2 killed in target killing Two people were killed and two others wounded apparently in incident of target killing in provincial capital here on Friday, police said. Unidentified armed assailants riding a motorbike opened indiscriminate firing at a barbers shop located at Ghousabad area within the jurisdiction of Satellite town police station, killing two persons identified as Abdul Rasheed and Wasim on the spot and seriously wounding two other customers. The attackers managed to flee from the site after committing the crime. The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment. They were identified as Nasir Shah and Shoaib Ahmed. Soon after the incident, police and other personnel of law enforcement agencies reached the site and cordoned off the area. 'It is apparently an incident of target killing, however, investigation is underway to ascertain real cause of killings, a senior police official said. The deceased were stated to be from Punjab. No group has claimed responsibility for the killings. Police has registered a case and started investigations.
