ISLAMABAD- Delegations of High Court Bar, Multan headed by it Ex-President Qamar Zaman Butt and District Bar, Lahore headed by its President Sajid Bashir and comprising other office bearers called on the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in Supreme Court Building here on Friday. The delegations discussed with the CJ problems, issues relating to their Bars and difficulties arising from the fact that banking and other courts are scattered in the area and they face problems to cover the cases and ultimately there occurs delay in disposal of cases. They requested for provision of consolidated courts/court complex to facilitate litigants as well as lawyers. They further acquainted the CJ about the shortage of other Civil and Additional Sessions Judges to hear the cases and to address the exceeding work load and further informed that the work of the courts suffers due to load shedding and provision of generators should be made in the courts to facilitates the judges, lawyers and litigants. Moreover, the delegations requested for appointment of seniormost and trained judges in family courts so as to hear family cases, which need reconciliation, mediation and amicable solutions. Chief Justice assured them full support and cooperation to address their needs and told them that their problems would be discussed in coming National Judicial Policy Making Committee Meeting and underlined the need of effective Bench and Bar cooperation in the process of dispensation of justice. The members of Bars assured their full support and cooperation to bring about improvements in the dispensation of justice and cleansing the judiciary of corrupt elements to actualise the vision of the Chief Justice. Moreover they assured to extend their cooperation in the implementation of National Judicial Policy 2009 and also appreciated the struggle of Honble Chief Justice of Pakistan for strengthening the role of judiciary in society. The delegations extended invitation to Chief Justice to visit the Lahore District Bar. Chief Justice accepted invitation and assured them to visit the Bar soon.
