LAHORE PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has maintained that no offer has been made to his party by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for rejoining the Cabinet. He said that on the occasion of Turkish President Abdullah Gul visit to Riawind, neither Prime Minister Gilani invited PML-N to rejoin the federal cabinet, nor he held out any assurance to the PM for joining the federal cabinet after abolishment of 17th amendment. Nawaz said the government should concentrate on resolving the real problems of the people including price-hike, unemployment and load shedding after the annulment of 17th amendment and the passage of the constitutional reform bill so that relief could be provided to the masses. He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of PML-N US-chapter which called on him in Raiwind. Nawaz said the PML-N is cooperating with the government in the interest of stability of the democratic institutions in the country, but there is no possibility of rejoining the federal cabinet. He said the PML-N, as responsible opposition, would continue to draw attention of the government to the grievances of the masses. Nawaz rejected the recent increase in petroleum prices and said that it would further aggravate the problems of the people. He demanded the government to immediately withdraw the increase.
