PESHAWAR (APP) Organising Secretary of the third Sarhad Games Masood Ahmad Friday said arrangements have been completed to hold 21 different events all across the province. Masood Ahmad, who is also Secretary Pakistan Judo Federation, said they have chalked out a plan to organise different events in the province. Arrangements have been made for hockey and cycling events in Abbottabad, Taekwondo in Kohat, Baseball (men and women) in Mardan and the rest of the 17 games in Peshawar. Venues have already been prepared for smooth holding of different games and the respective associations have been asked to submit the draws of their event before April 4. He said minister for sports, culture and tourism and president NWFP Olympic Association Syed Aqil Shah will preside over a meeting of the commissioners of all seven divisions of NWFP to finalise matters related to different disciplines. During the meeting, it would also be decided provision of playing-kits to all players, both female and male, to be taking part in the various events. The final meeting, in which secretaries of all the associations have been invited, will be held on April 5 in which decision will be taken and dates will be announced for Sarhad Games, he said. It is worth mentioning here that all the provincial sports associations have agreed to participate in the Sarhad Games by involving all the seven regions, he added. These Games have utmost importance in promoting sports activities in the province which is the direct victim of terrorism. To provide relief to the youth, he said, the NWFP Olympic Association and NWFP Sports Board would bear 33 percent of the expenditure each while the rest of the 33 percent will be bore by the association on their own.
