PESHAWAR – President All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association (APOTOA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has warned that they would block oil supply to the province and Bacha Khan Airport if their demand of increase in fare of oil tankers was not fulfilled within 48 hours.
Talking to newsmen here at press club on Monday, the president Nasir Ali Khan said that the wheel-jam strike would be held for indefinite period saying the day by day surge in petroleum products and other usage of daily items had compelled the tankers’ owners to raise their demand to increase fare of tankers.
The drivers, he said were also demanding for rising their stipends as per sky rocketing price hike but on the other, the tankers did not bear their own expenditure while bringing and carrying oil from one station to others and then to petrol pumps.
The president maintained that the tankers owners had been demanding for surge in their fare for last one month but government was least bothered to resolve their problem, as it was their right. He, therefore, demanded of the government to increase oil tankers fare within 48 hours otherwise they would be compelled to stop supply to Bacha Khan Airport and across the province.
