ISLAMABAD - Egyptian Chief Justice Mohamed Hossam Elddin El-Gheriany visited the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) where he was received by the DG of the Academy, faculty members and Hashim Abro, spokesman of the Academy on Monday.
The Chief Justice of Egypt who is also the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Justice is visiting Pakistan nowadays.
Parvaiz Ali Chawla, DG of the Academy gave them an extensive briefing about the genesis, teaching and training methodologies at the academy, the mission and vision of the academy and above all the keen interest of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, dedication and devotion of two judges in-charges including Justice Mian Shakriaurllah Jan, Judge In-charge (administration) and Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, judge in-charge (Academics) to develop the Academy into a unique university of the country called “Federal University of Law and Judicial Administration.” They were told that construction work of Phase-II of the academy was in full swing and scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. During his visit, Justice Al- Gheriany extremely appreciated the teaching methodologies being used in the training and for intellectualisation of the Judges at the Academy, the aims and objectives, mission and vision of the Academy, the collection of books and research journals at the FJA Library, among others. Lauding the active role of FJA in imparting judicial education, the chief justice placed a great emphasis on the point that the judicial academies in both the brotherly countries must benefit from each other’s expertise, experience, skill, judicial wisdom and knowledge. DG of the Academy Parvaiz Ali Chawla presented Academy’s shield to the CJ of Egypt and also to Justice Ali Muhamed Muhamed Ali, Deputy CJ,Egyptian ambassador.


On the occasion, the Egyptian Chief Justice also presented a shield to the DG of the Academy.
In the end, they also had a view of the construction of the Phase-ii of the Academy. Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court, Justice Agha Rafiq Ahmad Khan, Justice Shahzado Shaikh and other honourable judges of the Federal Shariat Court were also with the visiting high-powered Egyptian delegation.
