LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the ruling gang of Ali Baba & Forty Thieves is sitting in Islamabad and has nothing to do except corruption. He said that corruption is rampant in every department of the federal government.

The Chief Minister said that billions of rupees are being embezzled in Benazir Income Support Programme, launched by the PPP for the welfare of the poor.

He said load shedding of electricity has made people’s life miserable and now this corrupt gang has also dropped the ‘petrol bomb’.

He was addressing PML-N workers and Youth Wing in London on Monday, says a handout issued here. Shahbaz said due to electricity crisis, foreign investment is not being made in the country particularly in Punjab. He said that the Supreme Court through its decision in rental power projects has in fact put a seal on the corruption of PPP government.

He said that transparency in development projects and merit in Punjab is the hallmark of Punjab government. He made it clear that if corruption of even a single penny is proved against him, he will leave politics. Shahbaz also said that the country is being defamed at international level due to PPP government’s corruption. He said that during his visit to London he realized that due to misdeeds of the PPP government, overseas Pakistanis have also been disappointed.

He said that PML-N will utilize all its energies for the protection of overseas Pakistanis rights.
