LAHORE – Holding the PPP, MQM and ANP responsible for the Karachi bloodshed, ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami Maulana Samiul Haq has demanded dismissal of provincial government and making an interim set up comprising Sindh High Court judges to improve the situation.

Briefing the newsmen after a meeting of JUI-S Central Shoora here Monday, he also criticized both PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and PTI chief Imran Khan for taking a deceptive stance on restoration of Nato supplies for what he said an effort to avoid offending The US.

Chief of his own faction of JUI said the dubious stance of both the leaders was clear from their talk of supporting the conditional supplies, that is, for food only and not for the arms. He asked Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan as to who would monitor and ensure that only the food would be supplied in closed containers and not lethal weapons. He asked both the leaders to join hands and come out with clear stance that they would not allow any supplies to the US.

He asked the parliamentarians to show self respect and sense of national honor besides abiding by their oaths of the parliament, by resisting the restoration of Nato supplies at all costs. He said restoration of conditional supplies was a trap to prolong US stay and aggression in the region and it was time parliamentarians play their role in forcing the US to pull out of the region to restore the peace and tranquility. He said that the JUI-S would start the movement for enforcement of Shariah afresh after the exit of US from the region, adding that his party would contest the coming elections to counter the secular forces. He however did not elaborate if his party would enter into any alliance or seat adjustment with the like minded parties, saying all options were open but it was hard to say anything conclusive at the moment.

He also demanded withdrawal of hike in fuel and gas prices, saying the rulers were just minting money for filling their own bank balances at the cost of public miseries.
