SARGODHA - A woman and her daughter were gunned down here the other day in the name of honour.According to detail, girl namely Sahibah allegedly eloped with her paramour and later married him.

Her maternal uncle Muhammad Akram in the name of honour opened fire at Sahibah and her mother Rasoolan Bibi when she tried to save her. The Phularwan police have registered a case. Bodies of the deceased have been shifted to THQ Hospital Bhalwal for autopsy.

Cases registered against accused of pelting MNA’s house: The police have registered cases against 10 nominated and 40 unidentified persons on the charges of pelting the residence of PPP MNA Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi during a protest rally against power outages held on March 31. Urban Area Police have apprehended suspects and put them behind bars.

While addressing press conference at his residence here on Monday, Tasneem Ahmed said that local administration had made an unsuccessful effort to create rift between PPP and PTI. He said that those arrested were released as he had no grudges against them. The PPP MNA levelled allegations on the district administration and said that on March 27 the DCO had called a meeting at his office in which local leadership of PML-N participated who planned to protest against the power outages. He said that the DCO was responsible to maintain law in his area but he failed to do so.

Tasneem said that he had filed an application for the registration of case against DCO Sargodha and a PML-N activist namely Sheikh Faisal who led the mob which pelted his house. He urged the Supreme Court Chief Justice to take notice of the issue.
