Dera-Multan dual carriageway okayed

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The National Highway Authority (NHA) approved Dera-Multan dual carriageway and work on the project will be started in June.
MNA Sardar Amjad Farooq Khan stated at a meeting of the District Coordination Committee here the other day. The PML-N lawmaker said that the project to cost Rs10 billion would also envisage a bridge on Ghazi Ghat over Indus River. DCO Nadeemur Rehman, DPO Capt (r) Atta Mohammad, MPA Sardar Jamal Khan Leghari, Mehmood Qadir Khan Leghari and officers of different departments attended the session.
Sardar Amjad Farooq informed the participants that as per design, the road would be 22.2 meter wide and the bridge would have a width of 9.7 meter on both sides each. He said that local political leadership and the public had demanded the dual carriageway since long to cater to the needs of the population of this region which is bordering Sindh and Balochistan provinces.–Staff Reporter
