ISLAMABAD The quarter-final line-up in the 4th Capital Cup Basketball Championship was decided here Sunday evening and according to schedule, Islamabad Falcons will take on Islamabad Bulls, Eagles will face Rust, Islamabad Rhinos will meet 5-Stars and Hawks will face Jaguars. In the final three leagues matches played on Sunday evening, Islamabad Bulls defeated Cavs 63-46, Islamabad Falcons continued their good run in the tournament with a 106-44 drubbing of Westridgians and Islamabad Rhinos demolished Jaguars 86-46. Islamabad Bulls raced to a 19-11 lead by the end of the first quarter. Cavs got their act together in the next two quarters, outscoring their opponents 26-21 in the 20-minute period. Enjoying a slender lead of just three points ahead of the fourth quarter, Islamabad Bulls upped the tempo of the game and were unstoppable in the final 10 minutes of the match. They scored freely and defended stoutly, scoring 23 points and restricting Cavs to just nine. Asad Khan was Islamabad Bulls best player with a contribution of 23 points while Bakhtawar collected 21. Junaid topscored for Cavs with 16 points while Tahir Mehmood and Usman helped in with 15 and six points respectively. Islamabad Falcons were simply too good for Westridgians in all departments of the game. Haris Zakria was the man-in-form for the winners. Availing most of his scoring opportunities, he contributed 23 points. Anwar Khan had an equally good game for his 21 while Rizwan Khurshid added 18 points. Shehryar (15), Asad Abbas (10) and Sohail (6) were the main players for Westridgians. Islamabad Rhinos also registered a comfortable victory against Jaguars. Ikram Khan was the best player on the park with a contribution of 31 points for the winners. Ammad Raja collected 14 while Khalid chipped in with eight. Kumail Mehdi top-scored for Jaguars with 14 points while Jihar added 10.
