LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his non-availability to take part in the PML-Ns election campaign for the by-polls in Sargodha and Gujranwala and made it clear that the people of Punjab were facing devastations of floods and it was impossible for him to involve himself in other activities, leaving mas-ses to the mercy of circumstances. While talking to a delegation of Muslim Leaguers from both the said districts who met him at his Model Town residence, here Monday, the CM expressed his regrets to take part in the election campaign at this hour of trial for flood affected people. Following the Prime Ministers visit to the said constituencies, the delegation said it had become obligatory on the Chief Minister to come for the support of their candidates in the by-elections of those areas. The Chief Minister, on this occasion, replied that he could well understand feelings of the party workers and told them that his prayers for success were with them but the relief activities for the calamity-hit people marooned in flood were his top priority. Meanwhile, he pointed out that the PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif had also directed him to pay his full attention to the flood-hit people. He, however, assured the delegation that he would go to Gujranwala and Sargodha in person as soon as flood situation becomes normal.
