More rains forecast

LAHORE - The City received scattered showers on Monday with experts predicting party cloudy weather and chances of more rains during the next couple of days. The rains and overcast conditions provided some respite to the Lahorites from harsh weather conditions. However, periods of sunshine after the rains and high temperature and humidity caused the Lahorites to sweat in muggy weather. On Monday, maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 34 degree Celsius and 27 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 76 per cent. Lahore canal as usual attracted a large number of people including women and children. Not only youths but also elderly people were seen taking a bath in the canal. At some places even women were seen taking a dip in the mud colour canal water. According to the experts, seasonal low lies over eastern Balochistan and adjoining areas. Sundays low over northwest Madhya Pradesh (India) on Monday lies over southeast Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Southwest monsoon current is penetrating sub mountainous areas of Punjab and Kashmir upto 3000 feet. On Monday, DG Khan received 43 mm rain, RY Khan 35 mm, Mithi 29 mm, Garidupatta, Chhor and Badin 13 mm each, Multan 10 mm, Shorkot and Thatta 09 mm each, Hyderabad 07 mm, Lahore, Bahawalpur and Murree 04 mm each, Mandi Bahauddin, Hunza and Abbotabad received 01 mm rain.
