Adulterators, profiteers warned of stern action

Our Staff Reporter RAHIM YAR KHAN - The district administration has set up eight Ramazan bazaars for provision of daily-use commodities at subsidised rates during the holy month of fasting, said District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi. He was chairing a meeting of District Price Control Committee here at DCO office. The DCO said that the Ramazan bazaars would be established in city of Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Zahir Pir, Liaqatpur and Khanbela. As many as 469 fair price shops have also been established for provision of subsidised flour where 20-kg wheat flour bag will be available at Rs440 while 10-kg bag for Rs220. He said that a crackdown on adulterators and profiteers was underway. He also directed the officers concerned to ensure strict monitoring for maintaining quality, prices and adequate supply of the daily-use items TO Sasta Ramazan bazaars. The meeting also fixed prices of essentials for the current month.
