ATC adjourns hearing of Sarfaraz Shah murder case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi resumed hearing of the Sarfaraz Shah murder case on Wednesday wherein the defendant lawyer prayed the court to summon ballistics experts in the case. Defendant's lawyers filed applications to summon chemical examiner and ballistic experts in the court. The public prosecutor objected the move, saying the defendant's lawyers were using delaying tactics. The court reserved its verdict on the applications of defence lawyers. Proceeding of the case has already been delayed due to the lawyers' strike in Karachi against target killings. The court adjourned hearing of the case till tomorrow. Rangers Sub-Inspector Bahaur Rehman, Lance-Naik Liaquat Ali and constables Mohammad Tariq, Minthar Ali, Shahid Zafar, Mohammad Afzal and a private contractor, Afsar Khan, have been prosecuted for murdering 22-year-old Sarfaraz Shah with intention in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park in Karachi's Clifton area on June 08.
