Altaf asked the people to buy the ration even if they have to sell their valuables. He said they were ready to make sacrifices as the government and law-enforcement agencies were indifferent to what was happening in Karaci. Our Staff Reporter from Karachi adds: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned on Tuesday the killings continuing in Karachi. Addressing President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, he said, 'I am giving the rulers a notice of 48 hours. If the blood-thirsty terrorists responsible for spilling the blood of innocent people, attacking homes, shops and factories, and setting ablaze motorcycles and properties are not arrested, then the innocent people being made the victim of such terrorist attacks would be free to defend themselves. The government shall be directly responsible for the ensuing consequences. Altaf Hussain further said: 'What did I not do for the peace? I begged people for the sake of peace and asked our people to bear with patience. There is a limit to everything. Attacks by terrorists are continuing unremittingly despite our strong desire for peace. Innocent people are being soaked in blood. He said: 'The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) migrated from Makkah to Madina for peace but the pagans continued to attack his followers. After this the battles of Badr, Uhad and Khandaq were fought. Only time will decide if the falsehood gains precedence or the truth prevails in the final analysis.
