Highway police reunite 3 people

LAHORE The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) reunited three persons including an abnormal one to their heirs, recovered stolen wood worth Rs 147, 500 and arrested five accused intending dacoity. The PHP team Lilla Morr found a lost abnormal old man namely Ziafat, 60, a resident of village Barrel, Jhelum, and handed over to his brother-in-law namely Shakeel. PHP team Chowk Metla found a child namely Amjad,2, near Shell petroleum and handed over to his father namely Raffique, a resident of Liaqatpur. PHP team Uggo Chak Gujranwala found a lost child namely Hamza, 4, and handed over him to his uncle namely Ijaz Ahmed, a resident of Gujranwala. PHP team recovered wood worth valuing Rs 147, 500 but the accused namely Iftikhar, Faisal, Ebri, Ramzan, Mubahar, Talha, Naana, Bakar succeeded to escape from the spot. Meanwhile, the PHP team rounded up the graveyard and arrested five culprits namely Mohsin, Munir and Ilyas at 49/JB, Faisalabad. Police also recovered one gun and 4 live cartridges, seven mobile phones and two motorcycles from them. Add IG promoted to grade-22: Additional Inspector General of Police, Finance and Welfare, Punjab, Aftab Sultan has been promoted to grade 22. Aftab joined the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) as ASP. After getting promotion as SP, he served in Special Branch, District Police and served as Course Commander, National Police Academy, Islamabad. He also served as Deputy Inspector General of Police, in Police Headquarters, Punjab, Elite Police Force and Sargodha Range. Later, he was promoted as Additional IGP Police and up till know he is serving in Finance and Welfare Department. According to an official handout issued from Police Headquarters of Punjab on Tuesday, Mr Aftab Sultan is considered to be one of the most honest, professional and duty full officer of the Police Department. During his service tenure, he got training of administration of criminal justice from Japan International Cooperation Agency.
