PESHAWAR - Expressing concerns over poor security situation in Kurram Agency, members of Parachinar Reforms Committee have demanded the Pakistan Army to take control of Parachinar city and establish sustainable peace in the agency.

Speaking at a news conference here at press club on Friday, Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat Spokesman and member of Parachinar Reforms Committee Attaullah Khan said that security situations was continuously perplexing due to poor law and order situation in Kurram Agency. He said that recent twin bomb blasts in Parachinar was a glaring example of poor security arrangements in the agency.

He also expressed anguish over the unserious demands of Shia community after the twin blasts in Parachinar, in which they asked redeployment of Turi militia in the Kurram Agency and stationing of Turi youth along security forces at Jamia Masjid Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat and issuance of NOC for Turi militia from political administration.

He said the demands were vague, which would create internal strife between Shia and Sunni sects, as the role of Turi militia was remained obvious in the past because of which they had transformed into other FC units on permanent basis. "We will neither allow redeployment of Turi militia at Jamia Mosques nor will support the return of Turi forces in the region," he made it clear.

Flanked by Malik Nawab Khan, Haji Asadullah, Haji Marjan, and elders from the agency, he further added that the mosque was worship place for Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, there was no need of deployment of forces from the other sect. The committee members expressed fear that if the Shia sect was preparing any such plan for deployment of Turi militia at mosque then it will be dangerous for this place and we wouldn't accept it at any cost.  They informed that military forces had already deployed for the protection of Ahle Sunnat's mosque. "We satisfied with security arrangement under the Pakistan Army at the mosque," Attaullah Khan said.

He said that a number of subversive attacks targeting the mosque were foiled by security forces. He expressed the hope that the security forces would avert any such attacks in future. He demanded the government that Pakistan Army should take control of Parachinar city.
