A mild intensity earthquake jolted Islamabad and parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir at the Sehri time of Saturday.

The quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck when people were preparing for Sehri at 2.37 am.

Panic gripped the residents of the federal capital, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, Azad Kashmir and other cities.

According to the Met Department, epicenter of the quake was lying some 119 kilometer southeast of Srinagar in Kashmir at the depth of 10 kilometer, The Met office said the jolts were felt at 2:37am PST.
