Royal birth was mad: Kate

Kate Hudson has joked about how excited the British public was when Prince George was born last month.
The actress lives in the British capital city London with her fiancé Matt Bellamy, their two-year-old son Bingham and Kate’s son Ryder, nine, from another relationship.
Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William welcomed their first baby into the world last month. People all over the world eagerly awaited Prince George’s arrival, but Kate insists things were particularly intense in London. “It was insane, actually,” she told talk show host Jay Leno. “You can’t help but follow it since it’s on every news channel like that’s all you saw... that was the longest labour on news. It literally was full coverage.” Kate also spoke about a link she has to the British royals. When they were growing up William and his brother Prince Harry stayed in a home owned by Kate’s mother Goldie Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell.
“I remember we were all in LA and they were staying with their mom [Princess Diana] at the time…and we get this phone call at the house,” she recalled. “And the phone rang, my dad [Kurt] answers it, gets on the phone… sure enough, I think it was Prince William calling my dad to ask if he could use the ATVs, the four wheeler things. [Kurt] said, ‘Now that’s a really well raised boy.’ That was pretty cool... that’s as close as I got!”
Kate’s fiancé is from the UK and is in rock band Muse. The pair couldn’t be happier together and are enjoying raising their son, even though it was a shock for Kate when Bingham arrived.
“There was not a question in my mind that it was a girl... because it was completely different, totally different pregnancy - I carried different, he felt different [than Ryder], it was just a girl,” she explained. “I felt like this was a she... Ryder knew the whole time it was a boy, and I just ignored [him].”
