LAHORE - Sixty five veteran workers of Independence movement of Pakistan will be given plots in order to recognise their services for the motherland, said Parliamentary Secretary for Information Rana Muhammad Arshad yesterday.

Arshad, who is also the chairman of Punjab Independence Day Celebrations committee, told the media that these living heroes were nominated by the Nazaria-e-Pakistan Trust (NPT), founded by late Dr Majid Nizami. “They will be given plots, on the instruction of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” he added.

Rana Arshad said that an elaborate programme to be continued till August 14, has been arranged by the Punjab government to enlighten the young generation about the sacrifices given in the struggle for creation of Pakistan. “Their great sacrifices cannot be let go waste at the wish of certain elements who want to create chaos in the country at present,” Rana Arshad said referring to the Opposition parties which were coming out in protest against the government.
