FAISALABAD-The kidnapping of kids after taking its toll in Lahore has also panicked the parents of Faisalabad while the police in a contradictory report claimed that all is well across the district.

Some three children were kidnapped during the last 2 days in Faisalabad, the second biggest city of the Punjab province. However, the police have failed to recover any of the abductees. The parents protested against the negligence of the police. Many other families fearing the situation said that they had stopped their minors to go outside without any proper reason.

On the other side, the city police are preparing routine reports in this regard claiming all is well. After the suo moto notice of the Supreme Court on alarming increase in the abduction of children, Faisalabad district police also penciled a report on child abduction in Faisalabad district on the directives of IG Punjab police Sardar Asif Ali Shekhera. SSP Investigations Farrukh Raza sought a report on child abduction in Faisalabad during year 2011 to June 2016.

The police report presented to its high-ups is much interesting as it mentioned that some 200 cases of child kidnap were reported to the police during the five-year period whereas 211 children were recovered. The police claimed that all is well in Faisalabad regarding the heinous crime. As per police report, during year 2011, some 24 minor boys and 13 minor girls were kidnapped in Faisalabad, out of which all 37 children were recovered and the police registered some 35 cases in the said period. During 2011, the police also cancelled 22 cases and 13 outlaws were challened.

During year 2012, some 25 abduction cases were registered but Faisalabad police strangely recovered 25 children, despite registering 24 cases and cancelling 13 cases. Police in its report mentioned that during year 2013, police sent 14 outlaws behind bars and cancelled 20 cases. Some 37 children including boys and girls were abducted on which police registered 34 cases and recovered all 37 abductees, the report claimed.

Subsequently, police report discloses that during year 2014, some 31 children including 25 boys and 6 girls were kidnapped in Faisalabad on which district police registered 30 cases and recovered all the 31 abducted children. Showing a contradiction, it said that in the same year the police cancelled 17 cases while only 13 accused were challaned. During 2015, some 52 children were kidnapped in Faisalabad on which police registered 50 cases and succeeded to recover all the abducted minors while only 28 outlaws were challaned and it’s shocking to mention that 17 cases were cancelled and yet proceeding on 5 case was pending.

It stated that during current year 2016 till June, 27 cases were registered on abduction of 35 children. Police recovered 32 children challaning 16 accused and cancelling two cases while investigations on six cases was underway. According to police department, some 200 children were abducted during five years period and police recovered some 211 children.

However, sources said that 6 others were also kidnapped that were not reported but situation seems to be different. The other day, residents of Chak 214 RB located in the precincts of police station Sadar staged a protest demonstration at District Council Square alleging that the son of one of their resident Qasim was not recovered by police after his abduction two years ago.

Moreover, some three minors were also kidnapped in Faisalabad during past two days. One little Usman was kidnapped from Rasoolpur. A 12-year-old child went missing from a shop four days ago. Therefore, the directives of IG Punjab police seems nothing practically and district police are just busy preparing strange and fake reports against the ground realities. However, the citizens are feeling themselves on the mercy of outlaws.
