Pakistan make 161-6 at stumps against NZ

Pakistan were 6-161 in their first innings at stumps on day one of the second Test against New Zealand at Basin Reserve, Wellington. New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori starred for the Black Caps, claiming three wickets after winning the toss and electing to bowl, while fast bowler Daryl Tuffey impressed in his first Test for five years. Tuffey claimed the key wicket of Umar Akmal, the teenage star who struck a maiden Test century on debut in the first Test in Dunedin.
