LAHORE Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman of the Lahore High Court on Thursday directed administrator Auqaf department to keep shrine of Bibi Pakdaman open round the clock for the devotees and has lifted the ban earlier imposed on public entry to the shrine at night on plea of security. The judge also directed inspector general police Punjab to ensure security at the shrine so that the devotees could freely perform their prayers and other rituals. The judge passed this order on the petition filed by office bearers of Anuman-e-Jannisaran, association of Bibi Pakdamans devotees, challenging closure of Bibi Pakdaman shrine at night for the visitors. The judge observed that closing down worship places and shrines for security risk is no solution and instead of restricting public the security arrangements at such worship places should be enhanced.
