ISLAMABAD (PPI) - The Pakistan nationality holders former officers of United Arab Emirate (UAE) Army on Thursday demanded the Kingdom of UAE to provide them equal gratuity and pensions, as given to the UAE born Army men. Addressing a news conference here at National Press Club, Chief Organizer of EX Service Men of Pakistan Citizens Society G Muhayuddeen Dar said that they served in UAE army for a long time but it is beyond thinking as to why the government of our brother country treated us in such a discriminatory way. He said UAE government did not provide them any facility which the rest of the Army men are enjoying. He alleged that the gratuity and pensions are just provided to the UAE nationality holders whereas the UAE government didnt give them any allowances. Dar further said through this peaceful gathering they want to draw the attention of the UAE embassy and govt. ernment of UAE towards them, adding that according to the United National Labour Charter (UNLC) they deserve equal pension or equal gratuity. He pointed out that South Africa, Great Britain, USA, Israel and the Gulf State of Kuwait were providing equal pensions to their ex servicemen. Other retired Army men were also present on the occasion. They urged the UAE embassy to emphasise the UAE government for providing them equal gratuity or pensions.
