Rickshaw driver, sister shot dead in Sabzazar

LAHORE A 35-year-old rickshaw driver who was rushed to the Jinnah Hospital with multiple bullet wounds after Wednesday midnight succumbed to injuries on Thursday morning, police said. The man along with his two sisters was had just reached near his house when a motorcyclist opened indiscriminate fire on the three-wheeler they were on board, in Sabzazaar police area. The police investigators said that the rickshaw driver identified as Sabir Hussain along with his sisters Shahida Bibi, and Tahira Bibi had just reached near his house (39-Q block) Sabzazaar when an unidentified motorcyclist intercepted their three-wheeler after Wednesday midnight. The attacker said to be over drink at that time, opened fire on them and fled away from the crime scene. Shahida Bibi, her sister Tahira and brother Sabir Hussain sustained serious bullet wounds and were rushed to the Jinnah Hospital, where Shahida Bibi was pronounced dead. Sabir Hussain also succumbed to bullet wounds on Thursday morning while the condition his sister Tahira Bibi was stated to be critical. The police have removed the bodies to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. Meanwhile, CIA Police City Division on Thursday claimed to have arrested three alleged robbers including its ringleader Imran alias Mani, involved in the incidents of motorcycle-lifting and snatching, robbery, and street crimes. The police also recovered Rs 60,000, six cell phones and five motorcycles from their possession. According to a police spokesman, the arrested bandits have confessed to a number of cases of robberies during preliminary interrogation. Further investigations are underway.
