LAHORE A newly-married woman was killed while her husband received serious injuries when a rashly-driven car smashed into an autorickshaw they were travelling on. The late Thursday nights accident took place in the Cantt area, police said. The police added that a rickshaw-driver and his wife were on their way home when the car hit their three-wheeler from the rear side. The man, later identified as Sher Bahadar, was a resident of North Cantonment area. Musarrat Bibi died on the spot. Police said both the legs of Bahadar got fractured in the road mishap but his condition was stated to be out of danger. The car driver managed to escape from the scene. Sher Bahadar had tied his knot with Musarrat Bibi just two weeks ago. Emotional scenes were witnessed outside the residence of the deceased as the police handed over the dead body to the family. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from a graveyard, situated in the Satu Katla police area. Police said the man, yet to be identified, was lying dead in the graveyard as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the dead-body and contacted the police by phone. Police investigators said that apparently it seemed that the killer(s) poisoned the youth to death and fled away after throwing his body in the graveyard. Meanwhile, two gunmen shot dead a 26-year-old motorcyclist at a busy road during rush hours here in Nawan Kot police area and fled away instantly, police and eyewitnesses said on Friday night. However, police sources claimed that the youth was shot dead by robbers as he offered resistance during armed robbery. Police investigators said that two gunmen riding on motorcycle were chasing a motorcyclist, later identified as Muhammad Usman, a resident of Talat Park, Shera Kot. As the youth reached near Bakkar Mandi bust stop, they stopped him and opened straight fire at him after a brief altercation. The killers fled away from the crime scene within no time. The police reached the spot later and removed the dead body to the morgue for an autopsy. Further investigations were underway till filing of this report.
