Our Staff Reporter GUJRANWALA - Former Federal minister Qamar Zamman Kaira has said that PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has changed shoulder after failing to get one from the Establishment for the sake of power but he will again fail in hatching conspiracy against the peoples government. He was addressing to a public gathering held here to commemorate former PPP Gujranwala City president Lala Muhammad Idrees on his first death anniversary here on Friday. Asif Zardari will remain in the Presidency and continue politics as well and if anyone dare to stop him should come forward, Kaira challenged, and added that the PML-N government revolved around turncoats which Sharif brothers stole from the PML-Q and both brothers might be in Jeddah flight if turncoats turned again. The former minister said that the OBL incident and Nato aggression was to be retaliated by Army but unfortunately due lack of technology and resources the intention remained unfulfilled. We are proud of our Armed Forces and stand by it in all weather, he declared. He claimed that Pakistan Army had faith in the Constitution and would obey the countrys law. He added that the PPP was the group of followers of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and would continue politics of reconciliation, adding that the policy of reconciliation should not be perceived as its weakness. He blamed that Nawaz Sharif was solely responsible for the non-implementation of CoD although the government had implemented more than 84 per cent of it. Earlier, PPP Punjab President Raja Riaz criticized judiciary for favouring Sharifs, especially on Memo issue. He added that the PPP was the largest party of the country and its dissidents had committed suicide politically by parting ways with the party. GCCI calls for solution to all issues: The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry president has suggested that a meeting of chambers in Pakistan and political leadership should be convened to solve social and national issues. Addressing a meeting of chairmen of all standing committees of the GCCI, Malik Zaheerul Haq said that Kalabagh Dam was the need of hour to tackle water and power crisis, adding that it could be completed in lesser time than any other mega project. Unfortunately, he said, the project had been politicised and the nation had lost already some 32 years in this tug of war. Law and order, traffic problems, beautification of the city, removal of encroachments, construction of greenbelts and other development projects were also discussed in the meeting. The participants expressed deep concern over delay in completion of Khiali Flyover on the Bypass Road. They urged the government to establish building of Gujranwala Medical College in the city. SCHOOL PROJECTS: The Punjab government has reportedly sanctioned Rs 52.5 million for 14 high schools of the district to convert them into model ones. Every school will get Rs 3.75 million while development works at the five urban area schools have started. It is also learnt that MNAs and MPAs of concerned constituency will monitor the development work and ensure use of standard material at the projects.
