Gujranwala-The Japanese ambassador in Pakistan has handed over heavy pumps and other equipment to the administration for the improvement of sewerage and drainage system of the Gujranwala city.

Ambassador Yasuhiro Tojo, Federal Minister for Trade Khurram Dastgir Khan, Wasa Managing Director Khalid Bashir and others attended the ceremony. It was told in the ceremony that under the project, old pumps have been replaced with the new ones and cleaning equipment has been provided in order to reduce damages from floods.

THREE OFFICIALS SUSPENDED: The district administration has suspended three health officials over their absence from the duty during a surprising raid.

DCO Amir Jaan paid a surprise visit to BHU Chak Chaduhary and during inspection three officials including nutrition Ayesha Javed, chief technician Saifur Rehman and Naib Qasid Idrees were found absent from duty. He issued suspension orders of the said officials on the spot and also ordered to start inquiry against them.

TWO HELD: An FIA team in raids conducted at Mandi Bahaud Din and Gujranwala arrested two human traffickers. Ejaz Ahmed resident of Mandi Bahauddin and Zaman Malik of Gujranwala were involved in sending people abroad illegally.
