Punjab’s mid-year review for ADP in Jan

LAHORE - The Punjab government is committed to accelerate work for completion of all development projects within time, before the new election. Mid-year review for Annual Development Program 2016-17 would be held on January 2017. Metro Bus Project in Multan has now been completed and it would be opened soon for general public.

Punjab Minister for Planning and Development Malik Nadeem Kamran stated this while chairing his first progress review briefing on implementation of Annual Development Program 2016-17 in the Punjab after assuming the portfolio of P&D at Chief Minister Office, Lahore. Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, all members of P&D Board, all senior chiefs (development sectors), additional secretary P&D, chiefs of P&D and other officials of P&D Department attended the briefing session.

Minister P&D Nadeem Kamran said that government remains committed to improve pace and quality of economic development in the province. This was a big challenge for Punjab government to spend public money in a transparent manner on development projects in the light of good quality and fast speed. The preparation of new Annual Development Program 2017-18 is being started from January 2017. Punjab government increased its development budget in 2016-17. He also said that departmental coordination system, during the development process, would be made effective. “Difficulties and hurdles in development process would be removed instantly. We should work together as a good team for the cause of good nation.”
