LAHORE-National ladies champion Ushna Suhail and Pakistan No 1 Sara Mansoor qualified for the final of the 1st Nayza All-Pakistan Open Tennis Championship 2016 here at the PLTA tennis courts on Friday.

International-ranked player Ushna Suhail thrashed Maheen Aftab by 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinal. Ushna, who recently returned home from Egypt, where she played doubles semifinals of Egypt ITF international, was in great form and registered tremendous triumphs against Maheen, who outclassed former No 1 Sarah Mehboob in the quarterfinals.

Earlier in the first semifinal, Sara Mansoor taught tennis lesson to Mehak Khokhar, thrashing her by 6-2, 6-0. Sara won the first set conceding only two points while she overwhelmed Mehak in the second set, winning 6-0 to book her berth in the final, where she will face Ushna’s challenge.

In the men’s singles first semifinal, Pakistan No 1 tennis player Aqeel Khan outclassed youngster Muzammil Murtaza in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 while in the second semfinal, Yasir Khan had to struggle hard to beat Abid 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Director General Sports Punjab Zulfiqar Ghumman will grace the final as chief guest while Rafum Group Chief Executive Officer Naveed Shahzad will be guest of honour.
